A Memorial of an Indented Deed of Assignment bearing date the fifteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and made Between John JOYNT of Killala in the Barony of Tyerawly and County of Mayo post Master of the One part and Edward LAYNG Edith LAYNG alias JOYNT and John LAYNG the ???? of the Body of the said Edith LAYNG alias JOYNT all of Killala Barony of Tyerawly and County of Mayo aforesaid of the Other part Reciting that the said John JOYNT Did for the Considerations therein Mentioned Assign Transfer and Make Over unto the said Edward LAYNG Edith LAYNG their Executors Administrators and Assigns All the said John JOYNT's Right Title and Interest in and to the Houses and plotts with the Remainder of the land which with the houses and plotts Include one acre plantation Measure with all and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging Situate lying and being in the Town of Killala Barony of Tyerawly and County of Mayo and fronting the Street that leads by Rathone and bounded by Robert HUGHES' plott on the North East and KIRKWOOD Meadow field in the North West formerly known and Called the Widow O'BRYAN's plott and lately JOYNT Acre or little Meadow together with the Arrears of Rent then due out of said premises then held by William BOYD McLOUGHLIN and others to hold unto the said Edward LAYNG Edith LAYNG their Executors Administrators and Assigns for and during the Remainder of a Term of Years thereto Come of a Lease Made by the Bishop of Killala unto the said John JOYNT of the aforesaid plotts and premises at the yearly rent of Ten Shillings Sterling payable thereout, and also Reciting that the said John JOYNT for the Considerations therein Mentioned Did Assign Transfer and Make Over unto the said Edward LAYNG Edith LAYNG and John LAYNG their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns all his the said John JOYNT's Rights Title and Interest in and to to One third part of the Lands of Corbegan Situate lying and being in the Barony of Tyerawly and County of Mayo aforesaid being a purchase made by the said John JOYNT of the said lands of Corbegan from Philip OSBORNE formerly of Bartra, together with One half of the Rents then due on said premises for Twenty years back and upwards To have and to hold the said One third part of the said land of Corbegan with One half of the rents then due unto the said Edward LAYNG Edith LAYNG and John LAYNG their Heirs Exors Administrators and Assigns for Ever an as full and Ample Manner as any other Lawful Heir of the said John JOYNT shall or may possess or Enjoy the Other Two Thirds of said lands of Corbegan thereafter for Ever he the Said Edward LAYNG Edith LAYNG and John LAYNG their Heirs Exeors Administrators and Assigns paying the One third part of the Quit or Crown Rent payable thereout to the King and his Successors in every year thereafter for Ever Which said Deed and this memorial is Witnessed by Robert GARDINER and Henry LAYNG both of Rathnamagh in the County of Mayo Farmers.

The above named Robert Gardiner this day came before me and Maketh Oath and Saith that the is a Subscribing Witness to the Deed of Assignment of which the Above Writing is a Memorial as Also to the above memorial and Saith that he Saw the said Deed duly Executed by the Said John JOYNT and Edward LAYNG and Saith that he saw the above Memorial duly Executed by the above named Edward LAYNG and that the Name Robert GARDINER Subscribes as one of the Witnesses to the said Deed and Memorial is Deponents proper Name and Handwriting. Sworn before me at Ballina in the County of Mayo this fifteenth day of October one thousand Eight hundred and One by Virtue of a Commission to me Directed forth out of his Majesty's high Court of Chancery to Receive affidavits in and for said County and I know the Deponent.  (signed) Thos KNOX
