I went to the cemetery today to visit John Henry Sanderson and his wife Martina Christina (Larsen) Sanderson, who was born in 1860 in Copenhagen, Denmark and died in 1948 in Yakima, Washington. As you can see there was huge difference in their ages.
I know John Henry had another family in Idaho by another woman. One of the members of that Idaho family came to Yakima many years ago and spoke to my grandfather, James George Washington Sanderson (John Henry’s son).
We were told that he also had another family somewhere back East by a third woman, but I cannot verify this.
The dates for John Henry and Christina are from their headstones.

Information from Lea Ann Buck Joynt Leaannbu@swbell.net.

Leslie Joynt may also be the Leslie mentioned in e-mail from James Hamilton Joynt Jr jjo2av8@aol.com on March 13, 1998.

"My father was born 11 November 1933 in Flat River, MO. My grandfather was Felix Robert, born 01 October 1901 in Nashville, TN. He has four sisters, last I knew they never married and lived their lives in Nashville. He also had three brothers, Thomas, who at last report lived in Alabama, Robert from New Jersey and Lesly, whose whereabouts are unknown. The only sister's name I can remember is Rachel."

"My grandfather and his family were Catholic. He joined the Methodist church because of my grandmother. It is my understanding that we are of Scotch-Irish descent and that there were five brothers who came over at the same time. What I have been told is that the father of the five brothers was a tax collector. All five chose to marry common women and were thrown out by their father."

"Great grandfather may also have been James and been from Tennessee."

In ref to obit she sent about Mrs. George Joynt, 1899:
There's something a little odd about this notice: first, I have a note of an obit from another paper that states she was 79, and died 3 Nov 1899, survived by sons George of Gayly, PA and Fred, of Syracuse.

Frederick died in Gould, OH age 57, on 19 June 1908, survived by Mrs. C.E. Joynt of Penn Yan and brother GG Joynt of Syracuse. So if the "Mrs. George" that died in Cassadaga is the "Mrs. C.E. of Fred's obit, her husband was Hugh Joynt, who with his brother Galbraith came here from Ireland sometime around 1850. Caroline was the daughter of Frederick Rhode and Elizabeth Dean. She was born in Oswego Co, [NY] about 1821, which fits the obit pretty well. Son George was b. here about 1857 and Fred about 1850 according to local censuses.

I haven't worked on the Mc Joynt family for some years now. I sent your father the tree we made up in 1983. James McJoynt of Ironton, Oh is the first of the Mc Joynts. we have not located any  Mc Joynts in Ireland although there are many Joynts. James was born in Ireland in 1812 and showed up in Ironton, Oh in 1851 (letter to bishop starting the St Lawrence O'Toole church). James is my great grandfather. He married Ann Gaffney. James and Ann had Ann, Thomas David ( my grandfather), James, who had 2 daughters, Sara, Ella, Mary,Celia, Edward (never married) and Charles. All the Mc Joynt's we have found in the us are decendents of either  Thomas David or Charles. Handed down hearsay has it that James Mc Joynt was a  seminarian in Ireland and came here during one of the potato famines. We have no mmigration records, ship registry or any other about him. My great great grandfather was Peter Gorivan.  I
believe he was either the brother or uncle of Maggie Gorivan who was married
to Michael Joint in 1877.  Peter was born in Scotland however his parents,
Bernard and Mary, were from Ireland.  They came to the United States
(Massachusetts) to work for the railroad and eventually made their way to
Joliet, Will County, IL.  Peter worked as a fireman in Joliet before the
Civil War and after he relocated to Michigan.  My family does not know
anything about his family other than his parents are both buried in St.
Patrick's Cemetary in Joliet.  If you know anything about Maggie and who she
was I would appreciate your help.  My e-mail is terrill@dellnet.com. Susan Terrill 9/3/00

Subject: Re Stinsons & Joynts

I have just received e-mail from Della Shafer re William Stinson, she gave me your name
as you are also tracing Joynts and Stinsons.  I have a William Stinson who was a
witness to the marriage of John Joynt and Ann Gray in l846 in Rawdon, Que.
I know my ancesters (Morgans, Grahams, Joynts and Grays) all came from Sligo and that the
Grahams and Morgans came to Canada in 1833 and 1834.  Francis Morgan was born in Sligo in 1805.
They all settled for a short time in Rawdon, Que. then lived in Maryborough, Wellington Co.
Ont. for about 30 years. They then moved to Woodlands, Man.  John Joynt and Ann Gray were married
Mar. 31, 1846, their daughter (my ancestor) was Elizabeth Joynt born Aug. 1 l848 in Rawdon.  I
believe her siblings were Thomas, Richard, John Jane, Ann and James.
Have you got any information I might be interested in?
Thanks, Carole Morgan

Joynts in Jacobstow, Cornwall, England

>From Genuki:
Cornwall is the most South Westerly County in the United Kingdom. It has
only one land border, that with the County of Devon, to the East. This
eastern boundary is marked for almost all its length by the River Tamar. The
rest of the county is surrounded by sea. This makes the County a peninsula
and were it not for the short piece of land North of the Tamar, some say it
would be an island. The county is actually a Duchy and the Duke of Cornwall
is the Monarch's eldest son, currently His Royal Highness Prince Charles.
The population of the county has changed over the last 200 years, in 1801 it
was 192,281 rising to a peak of 369,390 in 1861 it then fell back slightly
and now stands at around 481,900. Until the end of the eighteenth century
the ancient Celtic language of Cornish was spoken here, it is currently
undergoing a revival and the ancient name of the County "Kernow" can be seen
at the roadside when crossing the 'Border' from 'England'. The county is 80
miles long from the Devon Border to Land's End. At its widest it is about 45
miles wide and averages about 24 miles wide with the narrowest point between
St Ives and Mount's Bay being a mere 7 miles wide. About 30 miles to the
South West of Land's End lie the Isles of Scilly, which form part of the
County. The landscape is varied with large outcrops of granite rock and
granite hills, such as Bodmin Moor in the East. The Administrative Capital
and County Town is the City of Truro, lying to the west of the centre of the
County. The main industry was formerly tin mining, but with the fall in tin
prices the last mine, at South Crofty, has closed.

My Great-Great Grandmother was Margaret Joynt, born in Ireland, living in
Manchester in 1863 when she married my Great-Great Grandfather, John
Renshaw.  Her father's details on her marriage certificate show her father's
name as Henry Joynt, occupation Farmer, and one of her witnesses was Eliza
Joynt.  Margaret had 7 children and continued to live in the
Manchester/Salford area until at least 1881 which is the last time I have a
confirmed find of her, although at least 3 of her children continued to live
and marry in the Manchester/Salford area until their deaths in the
1930's/1940's.  I think there may be a strong possibility that Margaret and
Henry Joynt are related (possibly siblings?)as there were only a handful of
Joynt Families living in Manchester/Salford area at that time.

Margaret and John's children were:-

John, Jane Ann, Thomas, James, Martin, Henry and Hannah.  The children were
born between 1864 and 1880.

My great grandfather was Earnest Joynt, who was the last owner editor of the Ballina Herald in Mayo, and also collaborated in the updated translation of the bible into Gaelic. He died in about 1949 in Mayo. My grandfather, Iveur Joynt, died 1964, lived and died in Waterford City and was a branch manager for Hibernian Insurance. He had two children, Valerie Rose Joynt, born 1942, grew up in Waterford, now divorced living in Wicklow, and Maeve Yvonne Joynt, born 1943?? now married , surname Revis, living in Rochester, Kent England.
Valerie Joynt married in 1963, to a William Magill, three children, Nicholas, 1963, living in Boston USA, Louis,1964, living in London, Simon, Myself 1965, also living in London.
Anyway, hope I've been of help. any queries, please email me simonm@booth-clibborn.co.uk or home Smagill@freezone.co.uk  I'll have more time later to give accurate information .

I noticed that the Kilfian church records had a lot of entries from
